Ben Steinman

Graduate Student

Ben received his bachelor’s from William & Mary, where he studied Physics and Religious Studies. During undergrad, he worked on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy for cultural heritage applications, studied a photoswitchable spin-crossover complex at the European XFEL, and wrote his thesis on single-molecule emission dynamics of fluorescent dyes.

He is interested in using light to probe the dynamics of single emitters and understanding light-matter interactions at the nanoscale.

Outside of the lab, he enjoys spending time in nature and cooking for friends.
