Alex received their BS in Chemistry from the University of Chicago, where they focused on the development of heat-up and high-pressure syntheses of colloidal nanocrystals. Currently, they are pursuing a PhD in Chemistry at UC Berkeley.

Alex's current research interests center around low-dimensional materials, with a particular focus on understanding light-matter interactions on a single particle level for improved optoelectronics.

Outside of the lab, Alex enjoys traditional and digital art, urban farming, and cooking.
